Happy Halloween 2019 - Week 4
Posted October 31, 2019 at 12:00 am

Every Thursday in the month of October, I've been updating with special Halloween character illustrations, and today's the big finale! We've gone to the Tri State Area and Cyrus is dressing up as Perry the Platypus from Phineas and Ferb.

...Now, I know what you're thinking. "What do Cyrus and Perry the Platypus have in common?" Well, nothing! Cyrus isn't dressing up for his own sake this year, but rather to page homage to the secret connection Perry has to the world of HoT. He inspired the name of the Final Curtain, the Pass-Through, the Last Location - the Orinthope. It was named after Perry the Platypus.

I used to be a huge Phineas and Ferb fan, especially in high school. One day I was waiting for my next class to start and had some Spanish-language Phineas and Ferb fan art on the brain, something I had seen on deviantART. It was of Perry and Dr. Doofenshmirtz facing off. Dr. D had the same name in the Spanish dub, but Perry was called "Perry el Ornitorrinco." I really liked that word, ornitorrinco. And after thinking about it for a while, jumbling it around my head, it eventually turned into Orinthope.

So thanks, Agent P! And thanks everyone for celebrating Halloween this month with me! We'll return to regular updates next week. Have a Happy Halloween!
