Happy Halloween! It's been a while since I did a Halloween illustration, and I've been sitting on dressing up the cast as the Wizard of Oz for many years.

I'm not particularly a fan of the Wizard of Oz, but thanks to an off-hand comment from someone I explained HoT to back in the day, I used the arcs of the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion as the basis for Trickster, Sag and Redburn's arcs. Trickster is careless and his ideas are short-sighted; Sag feels disconnected with her core self (her "heart"); and Redburn is terrified of his master. And just like the characters from the Wizard of Oz, our heroes learn they had it in them the whole time: Redburn is truly brave and selfless; Sag is compassionate and inspires others; and Trickster has a calculating side we don't totally understand yet.
